Sumatra Mandheling
$7.95 for 1/2lb
$13.95 for 1lb

The island of Sumatra in Indonesia continues to be one of the most popular coffee growing areas among specialty coffees enthusaists. Eon is pleased to offer coffee from the Gayo Mountain region located in Takengon, Sumatra. The beans are grown at altitudes ranging from 3,200 to 6,000 feet and organically certified by SKAL to bring an organic Sumatra Arabica to market.

Coffee from the Gayo Mountain is semi-washed in the tradition of Sumatra. The fruit is removed from the beans while still fresh. After a quick fermentation and washing to release any bit of the residual fruit, the beans are dried and ready for export. The green beans are very fresh and clean.

We offer this coffee as a dark roast. The result is a full bodied coffee with low acidity, which has a delicately sweet taste with a touch of earthiness overlying pleasant smokiness.

We like this coffee served black as a filter brew to best emphasize the earthy and smoky notes.

Papua New Guinea
$6.45 for 1/2lb
$10.95 for 1lb

Papua New Guinea occupies eastern half of New Guinea Island which is located in between south of the equator and north of Australia. Coffee seeds were brought from Blue Mountain region in Jamaica in 1937 and it marked the beginning of coffee production in the area.

Between the altitudes of 4,000 to 8,000 feet in the highlands region, the volcanic soils and favorable climate provide an excellent coffee growing environment. The coffee harvest in Papua New Guinea occurs during the months of April through September each year. The highly favorable growing environment in the highlands encourages coffee bearing that lasts well into the latter part of the year.

We offer this coffee as a medium roast. It has a medium body with a clean, well balanced acidity, creamy and a nutty flavor.
